Overview
Yatara Property Maintenance is Adelaide's trusted local handyman. We built them a site that shows the work, then lets customers pick from 227 real services and receive a priced, GST-inclusive quote by email within seconds — no phone tag, no waiting days for a number.
The problem
Like most trades, Yatara was quoting by hand. An enquiry came in, someone called back to work out the job, someone often drove out to look, then — usually after hours — someone typed the quote from a spreadsheet. Customers waited days for a price they wanted the same afternoon, and the first tradie to reply usually won the job. Growth meant more evenings spent on unpaid admin.
The approach
Instead of a brochure site, we made the website do the quoting — and gave the team one place to run every enquiry after it lands.
- ›A public site built around Yatara's own job photos and reviews — Home, Services, Gallery, About, and Contact.
- ›Customers build their own itemised job list from Yatara's real catalogue, with quantities and notes. Their list is saved if they close the tab. No login — just a name and email at the end.
- ›Quotes use Yatara's actual rates: fixed prices where they apply, labour and materials where they don't, a fair minimum for small jobs, and an honest "we'll assess on site" when a number can't be fair without seeing the work.
- ›A quote sent today stays the quote — changing rates later doesn't rewrite what the customer already received.
- ›Every quote and enquiry lands in one staff inbox, tracked from new through to accepted or declined. Jobs that need a site visit get a simple confirm-price step, then the customer is emailed the final figure.
- ›Yatara updates their own prices in a price book — no developer, no invoice. A simple dashboard shows conversion, average quote value, and what people ask for most.
- ›Staff are invited by email. Admins see everything; other staff can work quotes and enquiries without access to pricing or deletions.
The outcome
About 40 minutes saved on every quote. At 15 quotes a week, that's roughly 10 hours back every week — over 500 hours a year recovered from evenings and admin. Customers get a price in seconds, not days. Pricing stays consistent. Nothing falls through the cracks.
Time savings are projected against the manual quoting process this replaced.
